Can a demonic prophecy about the future come to pass?

There is evidence to suggest that it is possible for a demonic prophecy about the future to come to pass.

A demonic prophecy (a prophecy having for its source a demon) can be designated as a false prophecy. In the Bible, it is possible for a false prophecy to come to pass (for example: Deuteronomy 13:1-3).

Prophecies about the future can require from an entity to have:

- The ability to have present knowledge of things.
- The ability to communicate things in the present
- The ability to do things in the future

Demons can have all these abilities, which demonstrates that in principle, it can be possible for them to fulfill their part of a demonic prophecy.

A demonic prophecy is a false prophecy:

The source of a prophecy can make it TRUE or FALSE
A prophecy coming from a demon can make that prophecy to be a FALSE prophecy.

A false prophecy CAN come to pass:

It is possible for a FALSE prophecy to come to pass.

For example, it is written: "if there should arise among you a prophet, or one dreaming a dream, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and THE SIGN OR THE WONDER CAME TO PASS WHICH HE SPOKE to you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve different gods,’ which you have not known; YOU WILL NOT LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THAT PROPHET, or the one dreaming that dream, because the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul" (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).

A prophecy about the future can work with the abilities that demons have:

Prophecies about the future can require from an entity to have:

- The ability to have present knowledge of things.
- The ability to communicate things in the present
- The ability to do things in the future

These things can account for how an entity can give prophecies about the future.

Demons are entities which can have these abilities.

The ability to have present knowledge:

A demon can have present KNOWLEDGE of some things, as it is written: "He-cast-out many DEMONS, and was not permitting the demons to-speak, because THEY-KNEW HIM" (Mark 1:34).

The ability to communicate things in the present:

A demon can COMMUNICATE things in the present, as it is written: "the DEMONS WERE-BEGGING Him, SAYING, “If You-are-casting us out, send us out into the herd (of) pigs”" (Matthew 8:31).

They can do so also outside of a person, so much so that it is possible for the person to even come to pay attention to that.

The ability to do things in the future:

A demon can have the ability to DO THINGS IN THE FUTURE, as it is written: "Then there came out A SPIRIT and stood before the LORD, and SAID, ‘I WILL DECEIVE HIM.’ And the LORD said to him, ‘How?’ And he said, ‘I will go forth, and will be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And He said, ‘YOU WILL DECEIVE HIM, AND WILL PREVAIL. Go forth, and do so.’ And now, behold, the LORD put a false spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets" (1 Kings 22:21-23).

Demons may not necessarily be able to do things unconditionally:

If a false prophecy from a demon is given, a demon may then do something to carry out that prophecy. However there may be evidence to suggest that demons may not necessarily be able to do things unconditionally. In various passages, God is described as permitting the demon to then carry on what it wants to do.

When demons wanted to enter pigs, they had to beg Jesus and be PERMITTED to enter them, as it is written about demons that "THEY-BEGGED HIM THAT HE-PERMIT THEM TO-ENTER into those (pigs). AND HE-PERMITTED THEM. AND the demons, having-come-out from the man, ENTERED into the pigs" (Luke 8:32-33).

The LORD would have been described as PERMITTING the devil to touch Job, as it is written: "the devil said to the LORD" (Job 2:4) "having sent out Your hand, TOUCH his bones and his flesh" (Job 2:5) and "the LORD said to the devil, “BEHOLD, I DELIVER HIM UP TO YOU; only preserve his life.”" (Job 2:6). The Lord delivered Job to the devil, for the devil to be touching Job. As a consequence, the devil could carry out the plan, as "the devil went out from the LORD, and STRUCK JOB with painful boils from his feet to his head" (Job 2:7).

In this case with "Job" (Job 2:7), this may have been permitted so that Job's faith would be TESTED, as it is written: "Regard (it) all joy, my brothers, whenever you-fall-into various TRIALS, knowing that the approvedness(-by-testing) (of) your faith is-producing endurance" (James 1:2-3), "Blessed (is the) man who endures (the) TRIAL" (James 1:12), "Take (as an) example (of) suffering-hardship and patience, brothers, the prophets who spoke in the name (of the) Lord. Behold, we-consider-blessed the (ones) having-endured! You-heard (of) the endurance (of) JOB" (James 5:10-11).

This is similar to when a false prophecy is spoken, and the purpose of it coming to pass can be for the audience to be tested, as it is written: "if there should arise among you a prophet, or one dreaming a dream, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and THE SIGN OR THE WONDER CAME TO PASS WHICH HE SPOKE to you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve different gods,’ which you have not known; YOU WILL NOT LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THAT PROPHET, or the one dreaming that dream, BECAUSE the LORD your God is TESTING you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul" (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).
