Prophecies can include a call to action (explicit or implied)

Prophecies can include a call to action

The call for humans to act in response to the prophecies given can be explicitly mentioned within the prophecies.

The call for humans to act in response to the prophecies given can also not be stated explicitly, but it can be implicitly understood.

This is important to know because humans' actions can be taken into account for prophecies to come to pass (or not come to pass).

You can find more details below:

Prophecies can include an explicit call to action:

Prophecies can include a call to action for humans to do, stating it in an explicit way.

For example it is written: "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, “MAKE YOUR WAYS STRAIGHT AND YOUR PURSUITS, and I will cause you to dwell in this place" (Jeremiah 7:3).

Here the promise of "I will cause you to dwell in this place" (Jeremiah 7:3) is accompanied by an explicit call to actions for humans to do as a response to that promise: "MAKE YOUR WAYS STRAIGHT AND YOUR PURSUITS" (Jeremiah 7:3).

Prophecies can include an implicit call to action:

Prophecies can include a call to action for humans to do, which is not stated in an explicit way.

For example, it is written that to the people of the city of Nineveh, it is was said: "Yet forty days, and NINEVEH WILL BE OVERTROWN" (Jonah 3:4).

As people lived in Nineveh, and this prophecy was addressed to them, an implicit call to action was indicated for them not to end up perishing when the city would be said to be "OVERTROWN" (Jonah 3:4). Otherwise if the intent was simply for them to be overthrown without conditions, it may not have been communicated to them in advance for them to potentially have enough time to do something to avoid it.

Prophecies can have conditions (even unstated ones) which, if met, can make the prophecy to come to pass or not come to pass. These conditions can often be set upon what humans will do (or not do) as a result of having heard the prophecy.

Indeed, it is written that as a response the people of Nineveh "TURNED EACH AWAY FROM HIS EVIL WAY" (Jonah 3:8), "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil ways; AND GOD RELENTED from the bad (things) which He spoke to do to them; AND HE DID NOT DO (THEM)" (Jonah 3:10).

Humans can do things for prophecies to come to pass (or not come to pass):

Responding to a call of action after a prophecy is given can be important because humans can do things for prophecies to come to pass (or not come to pass).

It is important to know that prophecies are not necessarily meant to come to pass. Thus humans can do things for the prophecies to NOT come to pass and it being the intended response.
